RIMS School districts and charter schools compete for $1.6 Million for Education Technology
Submitted by Kathleen Steele on Wed, 2007-06-20 12:18.The primary goal of the Titie II, Part D, Enhancing Education Through Technology grant is to improve student achievement in grades four through eight through the use of technology. Over $11 million is available throughout California, with over $1.6 million available to support local school districts and charter schools in assisting teachers and students in grades four through eight develop technology literacy and curriculum integration skills to prepare for sucessful living and working in the 21st century. Funding is based on $300 per eligible student at funded school sites.

Podcasting

The focus of the Podcasting for K-12 Educators workshops is to learn how to incorporate podcasts into the K-12 curriculum to increase student engagement. Participants will explore the different types of podcasts and how they may be used to support the curriculum. By using a computer and microphone, participants will create and publish a podcast for enhancing a classroom lesson.
