Experience Art: Distance Learning at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art

LACMA now offers K-12 students, educators, and adults the opportunity to experience the museum’s collection of over 100,000 works of art through live, interactive videoconferencing. Explore and enjoy the world of art without leaving the classroom! Student participation is welcome and expected as part of the lesson. Classes include content that requires active viewing of artworks, provides new information, and encourages critical thinking and group discussion.

Program Topics Include:

  • American History through Art
  • Learning to Look at Paintings: Portraiture
  • American Impressionism and Realism: The Painting of Modern Life
  • Drama in Art: Artists in Seventeenth-Century Europe
  • French Impressionism: Color, Light, and Modern Life


Required Equipment: To connect with LACMA, sites should be equipped with videoconferencing equipment capable of communicating with an IP-based system at a minimum of 384kbs.

Cost: There is a fee of $100.00 per one-hour program.
