EETT-Competitive Round 7 Announced
On February 29, the California Department of Education (CDE) posted the Request for Applications (RFA) for the $15 million federal Enhancing Education Through Technology Competitive (EETT-C) grant program. The primary purpose of this EETT-C program is to improve student academic achievement in grades 4-8 through the use of technology. Fifty school districts and direct-funded charters in CTAP Region 10 are potentially eligible to apply for funding through this No Child Left Behind federal program.
Round 7 provides a regional allocation of more than $2.1 million for the successful districts in CTAP Region 10. The maximum grant award is approximately $1.3 million. Funded schools will receive an initial one-time implementation grant of $300 per student in grades 4-8. A minimum of twenty-five percent of the funds must be used for high-quality professional development.
Applications are due to the Education Technology Office of the CDE in Sacramento by Wednesday, April 23, 2008. The applications will be read and scored in May, with notification and awards sent in August.
RIMS CTAP will be holding a rollout meeting to provide information and guidance about the Request for Applications after our Technology Leadership Network (TLN) meeting on Thursday, March 20 at the Carousel Mall in San Bernardino. Please register online to attend this meeting, which will include a summary of the differences between the new RFA and prior rounds, and organizational suggestions to ensure that applications are closely aligned with the scoring criteria.
